Spreading the Joy of Music: Interview with VT Music Services Founder Vicky Scrase
April 18, 2024

This month we interview Vicky Scrase, Founder of VT Music Services and talk about the recently opened VT Music School!

What inspired you to start VT Music School?

I spent my childhood studying in a music school myself and for me it was a place to unwind, learn and express myself. It taught me life lessons and boosted my confidence and it gave me goals to work towards. At the age of 13 I wrote my own first song which was nominated for Eurovision junior in Greece. At the age of 17 I was at the X factor and made it to judge’s house. I achieved grades and music qualifications and gained a good sense of self awareness and who I wanted to be.

I would love to do the same for other children and give them that experience and that feeling of belonging in a special family, being part of something bigger. There is no physical music school in the area and I believe the community would benefit from one. I believe in accessible and affordable music education and in all the great benefits that music has to offer, regardless of weather it is taken to a professional level or simply for leisure.

What do you offer tuition in?

The music school currently offers one to one or paired lessons in:

Tell us more about your team of musical tutors?

Our tutors are all DBS checked, with music qualifications and a variety of experience in teaching, performing as well as composing. Please check out out “meet the team” section on our website www.vickystunes.com

Do you offer any performance opportunities for students?

Our students have the opportunity to perform at least twice a year. We always have a Christmas and a Summer Concert. Sometimes smaller performances in between are available when we get invited to events to perform.

What advice would you give to someone who is passionate about music but apprehensive about starting lessons?

Never leave for tomorrow what you can do today. Embarking on this journey could change your life. And always for the better. There cannot be a negative impact from music education. You won’t know until you try though.

Can you share any success stories of your students who have achieved their musical goals?

All of our students have so far had 100% success with their graded exams. They have also grown in confidence and have been selected to play major roles in school plays and performances as well as selected in theatre performances through auditioning process.
