Conveyancing Logjams
July 1, 2022

There is good evidence to say that the housing market remains constrained by yet another conveyancing logjam.

According to national statistics, it is currently taking between 4-6 months to complete a purchase on average after agreeing a sale, around 6 weeks longer than this time in 2019.

Although it seems strange to be thinking about moving before Christmas in the height of the summer, however, those homeowners looking to enjoy the festive season in a new home, need to be thinking about coming to the market in the next few weeks, giving them the best chance of finding a buyer and completing the transaction by the end of the year.

Although there are signs of a better balance between supply and demand, homeowners looking to move, should still aim to secure an offer on their own property before making an offer on a new home.

If you are considering a move and would like to discuss the house buying and selling process or would like a no-obligation market appraisal of your property to include a current valuation, please contact us.
